Moldova has been one of Polish Aid's priority countries for years. Russia's invasion of neighbouring Ukraine has further increased the importance of development assistance to this country. Polish companies, research and development institutes and universities support Moldova through projects carried out in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Poles share their knowledge and experience, but also establish cooperation with Moldovan partners. This benefits all the parties.
Magdalena Kudlicka was seconded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work for the UNDP, where, among other things, she supports the implementation of projects in Moldova. She considers the Polish Challenge Fund involving companies and research institutes from Poland as an example of effective support mechanisms. Supported by the Fund, Jerzy Ślusarczyk, president of Prote, is helping to implement his own technology to improve the quality of treated wastewater and reduce the amount of sludge. Ecobean is using coffee grounds in an innovative way. Tatiana Arkan, a representative of Business Development Capital from Moldova, a partner of a Polish company Civitta Poland, talks about the Queen Innovation Challenge project, which helps to establish contacts and cooperation between Polish and Moldovan business women.
To date, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has donated $1.5 million to the UNDP for such projects.
